Ðǿմ«Ã½ Magazine Students Take to the Phones

For five weeks in February and March, Ðǿմ«Ã½ students spent the evening calling alums to raise money during the annual phonathon. Unless otherwise designated, these gifts support The Ðǿմ«Ã½ Fund.

Carolee Halopoff Peterson ’88, director of annual giving, has established two goals for this effort: raising $50,000 and increasing the percentage of alums who make gifts to the college. In 1996, only 13 percent gave to Ðǿմ«Ã½.

Three alumni trustees have agreed to match dollar-for-dollar every contribution from a new alumni donor or an alum who has not made a gift in recent years. Carolee hopes that the opportunity to double their gift will encourage many such alums to make a pledge when a student calls.
